Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do you do as a career coach?

I help you get honest about where you are, clear about what you actually want, and confident enough to move toward it.

This isn’t about polishing a resume and hoping for the best. It’s about understanding how you think, what drives you, where you’re holding yourself back, and how to make decisions that actually fit who you are now. Not who you were five or ten years ago.

Who do you work with?

People who are thoughtful, capable, and successful on paper but know something isn’t clicking.

You might feel stuck, restless, underutilized, or unsure what the next move should be. You’ve likely already done a lot of thinking… you’re just not acting on it the way you want to.

That’s where I come in.

What kinds of challenges do you help with?

Some of the most common:

  • Feeling stuck but not knowing what to change

  • Knowing what you want but not taking action

  • Outgrowing your current role or career path

  • Struggling with confidence or decision-making

  • Wanting more meaning, alignment, or impact

  • Navigating a career transition or pivot

At the core, it’s always about alignment and getting your actions to match what you know, deep down, is true.

What makes your approach different?

I’m not here to give you generic advice or hand you a template.

I’m here to help you think differently.

I ask better questions. (I’m a journalist by training) I challenge your assumptions. (I’m wired to be direct) I help you see patterns you’re too close to recognize. (This is my hidden talent) And I don’t let you stay in the comfort of overthinking when what you actually need is movement. (I push you)

This is real work. And it works.

Do you help with resumes, interviews, and job search strategy?

Yes, but only in the context of a bigger strategy.

A stronger resume doesn’t fix a lack of clarity. Better interview answers don’t solve misalignment.

We can absolutely work on those things and I know all of the industry best practices to finding your next role. But they become far more effective once you know what you’re actually aiming for and why.

I’m not sure what I want. Is that a problem?

No. That’s exactly where most people start. You don’t need a perfect answer. You need a way to get to one.

We’ll cut through the noise, get you out of your head, and start identifying what actually matters so you can move forward with intention instead of hesitation.

What if I already know what I want, but I’m not acting on it?

That’s more common than you think.

Knowing isn’t the problem. Trusting yourself enough to act on it is.

We’ll unpack what’s getting in the way. Which is typically fear, doubt, overanalysis, external expectations. And we’ll build the clarity and confidence you need to follow through.

How does coaching actually work?

We have structured, one-on-one conversations focused on you, how you think, how you make decisions, and where you’re getting stuck.

Between sessions, you’ll have space to reflect, test ideas, and take action. This is not passive. You won’t just “talk about it.” You’ll move.

How long does the process take?

It depends on what you need and how ready you are to engage with the process.

Some people gain clarity quickly. Others need more time to work through deeper patterns and decisions.

What matters most isn’t speed. It’s the openness and honest that you bring. And that you walk away with clarity you trust and the ability to keep making aligned decisions long after we’re done.

What kind of results can I expect?

Clarity. Confidence. Direction. But more importantly, you’ll start acting like someone who trusts themselves.

That might look like:

  • Making a clear career move

  • Setting stronger boundaries

  • Pursuing something you’ve been putting off

  • Showing up differently in your current role

The external results matter. But the internal shift is what makes them sustainable.

Is this worth the investment?

If you’re ready to stop circling the same thoughts and start making real decisions, then 100% yes. Let’s go.

If you’re looking for quick fixes or someone to tell you what to do, then there are probably others who are better positioned to support you.

This work requires honesty, effort, and a willingness to challenge yourself. If you’re ready for that, it changes more than just your career.

What’s the first step?

Start the conversation.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. Because if you did, you' wouldn’t be considering coaching.

You just need to be willing to look at it differently than you have before.
